Twins - John Muir Trail - Upper Basin

Upper Basin, Kings Canyon National Park. This basin, just north of the difficult Mather Pass along the John Muir Trail contains many small lakes and tarns scattered throughout the basin. This area is remote - the nearest entry is over Taboose Pass, a difficult eastern Sierra pass requiring a climb of over 6000 vertical feet in less than ten miles.
