In the fall of 2007, a large number of raptors started to congregate and hunt along the coastal bluffs of Half Moon Bay. The proximity of the raptors to the trails and roads of this area made for some very close interaction with these birds of prey. Red Tailed Hawks, Northern Harriers, White Tailed Kites, and American Kestrels were amongst the hungry birds hunting these fields. It was quite interesting to watch the different methods each bird used to hunt, how effective each bird was, and the interaction between each species.
