White Tailed Kite perched in the fields of Blufftop Coastal Park, Half Moon Bay, California. This beautiful raptor was near extinction in the 1930's and 40's. Having made a fabulous comeback, they are now common in the San Francisco Bay Area, seen hovering above open fields with their distinct hunting behavior.
