~ Backpacking the High Sierra - Sequoia National Park ~

-Back to the Stock Photography Archives-

A week long backpacking trip into the heart of Sequoia National Park, this hiking trip began and ended over the grueling Shepherd Pass. With so much to do in the area as the Shepherd Pass trail spills into the Upper Kern Basin, I was met with indecision on where to go, ultimately visiting Lake South America, Juntion Meadow, Wallace Creek, and finally base camping at Guitar Lake where I climbed Mount Whitney. The final day of the trip was magical, as I strolled across the Bighorn Plateau to be met by a pair of deer grazing in the flower filled meadows, backdropped by the Great Western Divide and Kaweah Peaks.
