~ Fletcher Lake ~

Early spring sunrise from the icy shores of Fletcher Lake, Yosemite National Park. Hiking for miles to this location, I waded through puddle after puddle, then miles over wet snow to reach this area, arriving with wet feet frozen to the bone...worth every step.

Fletcher Lake is a popular destination in the summer. Nearby Vogelsang High Sierra Camp offers backcountry lodging, attracting many to this location. In spring however, the camps are closed, and the few backpackers than manage the early spring snow often do so to find this area completely devoid of people.
