Long Eared Owl, Mercey Hot Springs, California. For several years, Mercey Hot Springs has had several resident owls within the grove of trees nearby. In 2007 I visited to find the highest concentration of owls I have ever seen. I found this owl perched just inside the trees - I think I was just as surprised as the owl.
