Osprey

Osprey collecting reinforcements for its nest, South Tufa Preserve, Mono Lake, California. Several Osprey utilize the tufa towers at Mono Lake to build their nests and raise their young.

The diet of an Osprey consists mainly of freshwater fish, and given the lack of fish in Mono Lake can be found hunting as far away as Grant and Silver Lakes, several miles away.
