Alpenglow off Mount Humphreys from Desolation Lake, John Muir Wilderness. Camped alongside the lake in a small alcove built of stones by previous hikers, we were hammered by high winds as a cold front moved through the area. I recall hearing a voice in the middle of the night as I lay huddled in my bivy: "I wonder if Greg blew away yet".
