The Scream - Pebble Beach Tafoni

Tafoni at dusk, Pebble Beach, San Mateo Coastline of central California. Tafoni are small cave-like structures found in rocks and often found in networked groups. The Tafoni at Pebble Beach (San Mateo) are some of the best Tafoni that can be found in the area.

The strong contrast and shadows Tafoni create, together with their irregular shapes make them extremely difficult to photograph. This photo was taken at sunset, when the shadows and light were slightly softer. The photo was set in motion by zooming out my lens at exposure time.
