Columbine Lake

Dusk at Columbine Lake, Sequoia National Park. After a beautiful sunset, I found myself searching the shoreline for a spot protected from the wind. I found this little alcove that held a reflection long enough for me to snap off a few shots.

Later that evening while trying to fall asleep, I heard a rustling outside my tent. Stepping out to investigate the ground scattered in all direction. Flashing my headlamp on, I thought the mice were going to walk off with my backpack on their shoulders, like ants marching back to their nest. Not sure what they wanted, other than to lick the sweat off my backpack.
