Poison Dart Frog, Parque Nacional Tortuguero, Costa Rica. These tiny frogs, about the size of a fingernail, are quite poisonous due to toxic excretions. Their name derives from their use by natives to poison the tips of their darts.

I've heard quite often that frogs are the most susceptible species to environmental changes. If this is the case, its extraordinary how many species across Costa Rica alone are now extinct, or on the verge of becoming so - a scary sign and stern wake up call for how our world is currently changing.
