A very short overnight trip into the Mokelumne Wilderness in early May, I skied to the lake and arrived in just a few hours. The winds were howling, and finding a sheltered location to set up camp was difficult. With thoughts being blown around of heading out due the high winds, I stayed for the night and surpisingly slept well, but decided the next morning to leave early rather than spend the day in the tent or in the high winds.
